1998/09/09 -On September 10, 1998, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton hosted a special White House event on "New Efforts to Promote Colon Cancer Prevention." In addition to Mrs. Clinton, the event featured these speakers:
- Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala
- NBC "Today" show co-anchor Katie Couric
- Good Housekeeping editor-in-chief Ellen Levine
- Dr. Bernard Levin of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and chair of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable
